Each year, the Iowa City Area Association of REALTORS® Community Service Scholarship Program awards several deserving students within our service area, as selected by the Iowa City Area Association of REALTORS® Scholarship Committee.

All graduating high-school seniors within the extended Iowa City area are eligible to apply for our High School Scholarship (awarded in the amount of $2000 [1st place], $1500 [2nd place], $1000 [3rd place]) For graduating seniors who are children of active ICAAR REALTOR® Members, we offer the Cheryl Carroll-Nelson Scholarship (awarded in the amount of $2000).

Recipients are selected on the basis of community service and involvement. Applicants must be attending an accredited university, community college, or technical school in the following semester.

REALTORS® Give Back

Grants

With the help of the National Association of REALTORS®, Iowa City Area Association of REALTORS® have grants available to help us plan, organize, implement and maintain Placemaking activities in our communities. We invite community partners to fill out an application for a Placemaking grant for projects we can take on together.

About Placemaking: Placemaking is a way to make our community a better place by transforming unused sites and “eyesores” into welcoming destinations accessible to everyone. Placemaking can be undertaken by anyone in a community, but what is often needed is someone to take the lead or initiative. Who better to do this than a REALTOR® Association and its members? Our REALTORS® are already engaged in their communities. They know the neighborhoods and the properties and are likely to know where to focus improvement efforts.

All applications will be reviewed by the Iowa City Area Association of REALTORS® Community Outreach Committee, Board of Directors, and/or Staff. Please allow 30 days after submitting your application for us to get back to you.
