The holiday season is upon us, and ICAAR is excited to host another year of Bringing Home the Holidays to families with the greater Iowa City area.
ICAAR Brings Home the Holidays is a project where ICAAR will match up participating brokerages with families from our local area that are facing hardships and would not be able to financially provide a holiday experience for themselves.
This year ICAAR partnered 10 brokerages with 11 families, and we are so excited to bring Holiday Cheer to each family!
Families are given wishlists to fill out, and each brokerage will go and spend time buying gifts for their designated family. Once the brokerage has completed its shopping, gifts are then dropped off at ICAAR and await wrapping day!
Wrapping day is a day where members of ICAAR are welcome to come and volunteer with the Community Outreach Committee as they wrap all of the gifts before drop off. This years wrapping day is on December 17th and ICAAR is currently looking for volunteers to help make the Holiday magic happen! (Sign up here)
Once wrapping day is completed, delivery is in full force! Gifts and holiday meals will be delivered in the week of December 25, just in time for the holiday.
