Iowa City YPN Raises Over $10K for Big Brothers Big Sisters of JC

ICAAR’s much anticipated YPN Bags Tournament once again raised over $10,000 for an incredible local organization. The 2024 Beneficiary for this event was Big Brothers Big Sisters of Johnson County, an organization that so many of our members are personally involved with.

Every year, ICAAR Realtor and Affiliate Members, and members of the public alike compete against each other in a bags tournament out on the green at Big Grove Brewery, to claim the coveted Toilet Trophy. All the while, enjoying food and drinks, entering our Raffle, and playing other side games to add to the contributions given to BBBSJC.

At the end of the third round, we drew winners for our raffle prizes this year: a Blackstone Tabletop Grill, and a Bartesian Premium Cocktail Machine. Also mixed into the day’s activities was a large game of Heads or Tails, with a prize donated by Chomp, for a year’s worth of free delivery. Each dollar made at this event goes towards the “support of 1:1 relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. BBBSJC empowers every young person we serve on a path to graduate with a plan for their future and a mentor whose impact lasts a lifetime,” said Daleta Thurness, the Executive Director at BBBSJC.

This year, YPN Iowa City was able to rally together our ICAAR Members and members of the public to raise $10,344 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Johnson County. ICAAR is beyond proud to support such an incredible organization that has compounding positive impact in our community, and beyond.
