Committees

Our Committees

ICAAR is committed to providing its members with opportunities to get involved in the community, develop their careers and skills, play a role in the future of our industry. Our committees play an important role in all of these goals, as they allow members to build leadership experience, assist with creating forms and events, and play a role in continuing to promote the REALTOR® brand to our community.

Serving on a committee is a great way to get involved at ICAAR, connect with fellow agents, and contribute to the success and growth of the Association. Committee involvement is volunteer-based with your service being a one-year commitment, with the opportunity to return. Most committees meet once a month, or at the call of a Committee Chair.

Committee Descriptions

ICAAR currently has 7 open committees that you can join:

Commercial Roundtable

2025 Chair: Carmen Krueger

Instead of monthly committee meetings, this group hosts monthly Roundtables. These are typically 1 hour classes or socials, open to all members, with a focus on a different area of commercial real estate.

Community Outreach

2025 Chair: Sarah Miller

This committee focuses on community involvement, and connecting with non-profits that relate to housing. Repeat projects include serving free lunch to those in need once a month through Iowa City’s Free Lunch Program, and organizing our annual family adoption project ICAAR Brings Home the Holidays.

Education

2025 Chair: Joni Eubank

This committee assists with the education and professional development opportunities that ICAAR offers. This can be selecting topics, choosing facilitators, helping promote upcoming education, and overviewing member satisfaction and feedback.

Forms & By-Laws

2025 Chair: Cathy Pugh

This committee reviews, edits, and creates new MLS forms that ICAAR offers, as well as reviews edits and suggestions of the ICAAR Bylaws.

Member Services

2025 Chair: Tricia Van Roekel

Member Services keeps a finger on the pulse of membership satisfaction. This committee will host events for networking, plan Inaugural, and help create educational and informational content for brokers, members, and affiliates.

Political Affairs

2025 Chair: Tyler Riddle

Political Affairs’ main focus is fundraising for RPAC – the Realtor Political Action Fund. This committee keeps up to date with new ordinances and regulations, promotes member involvement in city positions and groups, and reviews how candidates in local races support issues that affect homeownership and private property rights.

Young Professionals Network (YPN)

2025 Chairs: Jonathan Fell

It stands for the Young Professionals Network, but this group is open to all ages! YPN focuses on tools and support for agents newer to the industry, via education, networking events, and community involvement such as the Bags Tournament, Axes n’ Taxes, and the Top Producer Panel.
